Abstract

  • East Java Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) in May 2021 rose 0.62 percent from 98.31 to 98.92. This NTP was due to the index of price increase received (It) which increased by 0.84 percent, higher than the index of price paid by farmers (Ib) which increased by only 0.22 percent.
  • In May 2021, three agricultural sub-sectors experienced an increase in FTT and two agricultural sub-sectors experienced a decline. The sub-sector that experienced the largest increase in FTT occurred in the Food Crops sub-sector, namely 1.81 percent from 96.98 to 98.73, followed by the Fisheries sub-sector by 1.28 percent from 99.77 to 101.05 and the Livestock sub-sector by 0.31 percent from 99 .39 to 99.69. The sub-sector that experienced a decrease in FTT was the Horticulture sub-sector by 4.01 percent from 101.65 to 97.57, followed by the People's Plantation Sub-sector by 0.14 percent from 99.19 to 99.06.
  • Five provinces on the island of Java that calculated NTP in May 2021, all experienced an increase in NTP except West Java, which fell by 0.38 percent. The largest increase in NTP occurred in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta by 0.66 percent, followed by East Java by 0.62 percent, Central Java by 0.58 percent and Banten by 0.12 percent.
